I also play instruments!

Corey de Baat graduated from the University of Calgary in June of 2015. He received a Bachelors of Music in Composition with distinction and the Silver Medal for Academic Achievement for his work. During his undergrad, he focused his composition efforts towards writing music for video games and movies. Corey's compositions have been played by a number of ensembles including Ensemble Paramirabo. His compositions range anywhere from soloist and small ensemble to large orchestra and wind ensemble works.

While attending university, Corey also focused on elevating his skill on wind instruments to a professional level. He has played for ensembles such as Calgary Civic Symphony, University of Calgary Wind Ensemble, University of Calgary Orchestra, and Alberta Winds. He also enjoys playing for musicals and other stage performances with companies like Front Row Centre Players.

In his spare time, Corey enjoys playing video games, playing duets with his husband David, and hiking in the mountain. He enjoys playing music with his mother's choir and writing music just for fun. Corey and David currently have two cats, Betru and Loofah.
